formulating

What information do you need to formulate my ink? +
Three things: your substrate (the actual material being printed on), your process (machine type, printing technology, and curing method), and the end-use conditions (outdoor exposure, chemical contact, abrasion resistance, etc.). With these details, our laboratory establishes the starting point for the formulation.
How long does a custom development take? +
It depends on the complexity of the project: some formula adjustments can be resolved in a matter of days, while ground-up developments require several lab iterations and validation phases. After analyzing your case, we will provide a specific timeline before getting started.
Is there a minimum order quantity (MOQ)? +
We tailor batch sizes so you don’t have to overpurchase. Tell us your volume needs and we will propose a supply format that aligns with your consumption rate.
What properties can you fine-tune in the formula? +
Among others: viscosity, surface tension, curing type and speed, substrate adhesion, elasticity, UV resistance, chemical resistance, abrasion resistance, and exact color matching. The formula is fine-tuned until the ink performs exactly as required on your machinery.
Is the developed formulation exclusive to my company? +
Custom developments are created under client specifications and covered by confidentiality agreements. If your project requires formal formula exclusivity, it will be contractually agreed upon before development begins.
How do I validate that the ink works before production? +
Through laboratory samples printed directly on your substrate, subjected to relevant testing for your use case (adhesion, UV aging, chemical resistance, etc.). We only scale to full production once validation is completely successful.
